"What the..."
Eric looks around the room - almost not noticing the woman in the corner, being more looking for a gigantic monster of some description. As he sees her approaching, he turns to face her.
"Did you see a man here? Maybe twenty five, lots of knives, being... what happened to you?"
Eric lowers the hammer, and takes a closer look at the woman.
She must have been here... she must have been caught in the fire...[/b]
Perception - Blood Phobia v TN 5 (as per Alert) = 9,2,9,3 = 2 Successes

She keeps stumbling forward, letting out a low moan as she approaches. As she draws near, you notice her hands seem a bit more claw-like than you're comfortable with.

"What? Oh no. No, no, no no no no."
This isn't happening, this isn't happening, this isn't happening...
He backpedals, holding the hammer up in a warding gesture.
"Stop! Stay back! For the love of God, get back. Don't make me- I said get back!"
Social - Phobia (Blood) versus Intimidate = 4,7,10 (GP Open-end Fails),5,8,7 -> 4 successes

She continues stumbling forward, not heeding your cries, she's about six feet from you now.

Combat rounds, go.
Eric's in what is functionally a defensive stance as he continues to backpedal.
CP is 4 after Proficiency and Phobia. Initiative is passive.
She's going to kill me. She's actually going to kill me. What the fuck do I do?[/i]

Continued Passive Initiative, stance remains defensive.
As Eric backs out into the hallway, the thing follows.
Should have left the door. Should have left the fucking door. Think... Get help. Need help.
"Jack! Jack, if you can hear me, I really need help!"[/b]

Jack hears Eric's screaming and rushes back to the second hallway, only to find the door closed. He gives the door a good police-style kick.
Strength check:
8,9,3. Fails.
Fuck this, I don't have time for this, Eric's in trouble.
Jack steps back a step, and uses all 4 bullets to shoot out each hinge on the door. He then dumps out all the empty shells and uses a speed-loader to quickly fill his gun. He tries again to kick the door in, and he succeeds. He readies his gun and quickly rushes down the hallway. As he rushes down the hall, he hears a shuffling noise behind him. He quickly turns to see the same thing Eric was facing.

In Eric's perception of reality, the creature is taking a swing at his right arm.
5CP 3,5,7,9,5 -> Two successes
In Jack's reality, it's coming closer.

3 dice full evasion, stance elevates to 5.
7,9,3,2,8 -> Three Successes
Eric leaps backwards as the thing swipes at him, the claws narrowly missing him.
He's not going to make it in time.
Back to stances - Eric remains defensive, and passive initiative; as he continues to backpedal and plan - but he's running out of hallway...

"You.... what did you do to Eric? You... you put him on my list of people to find, didn't you? I'm going to kill you for that."
Aggressive, attacking stance.

2,9,7,6,8,8,4,5,10 ---> 5 successes
11 damage total, +2 against any AV

The bullet hits her shoulder and sticks firmly in the wound. She keeps coming, almost within striking range.

Meanwhile, Eric continues to backpedal, all too aware that he's running out of hallway.
He's not coming. He'd have said something. He'd be kicking the door. Why doesn't matter, he's not here. Just you and the monster.
As he keeps backpedaling, he feels the back of his shoe clack into the closed door behind him.
Help's not coming, can't get away. Don't turn your back, nowhere to run. All alone, fight or die. FIGHT.
Filled with desperation and adrenaline, Eric raises the hammer and uses the one option he has left - he charges.
Stance change to Aggressive Charging, aggressive initiative.
