It looks as though it leads straight up into a room, there's nothing covering it. Well, not so far as you can tell.

Jack makes his way to the top. He takes out his flashlight and clicks it on, sweeping it across the room.

The air smells vaguely of sulfur, and the room appears a little smokey as you emerge from the hole. Looking around, it looks almost as through you're in a replica of the room you found the original tunnel in, only, something isn't right. It's as though something awful has happened here, the wallpaper is peeling in the few places it remains, chard bits have fallen off the walls and ceiling, and what of the walls isn't covered by the paper are blackened.

Eric slowly climbs the ladder, into the room.
My god...
Eric suppresses a wave of nausea as he looks around the room. After a second, or two, he manages to quietly speak.
"This... this is a bad place. We shouldn't be here."
He quickly heads to the door and tries the handle - if it's unlocked, he opens the door; if not he starts cursing at the thing. And if it's really hot, he freaks out.

Stephan climbs up the ladder and starts to cough, covering up his mouth. "What the hell happened here? This looks just like that room, how long were we down there?"
When Eric reaches for the handle, it feels somewhat warm to the touch, but not overtly hot, and upon opening it is greeted with a very similar hallway, to the one in the clinic. Except, the floor seems to be made of a metal grate, below it only blackness. And the walls and ceiling have the same charred feeling that the previous room did. It is most unsettling.

Fucking ladder to a fucking alternate dimension. That's all it is. Don't panic. Find a way out.
Eric heads down the hall at a quick walk, throwing open the clinic doors, trying to find one that isn't all crazy and fucked up. This process will of course stop immediately if he encounters a room that's more fucked up than this location / filled with monsters.[/i]

Only one way to find out if this is the same place.
Jack quickly goes over to the first door they opened and sees if the phone is still ripped out of the wall, and on the floor.

As Jack goes to the first room and reaches for the handle, the hallway door shuts behind him. Behind Eric, the door to the room with the passage slams itself shut. Eric can hear slamming on the door, and Stephan's fiddling with the door handle, screaming curses at it. Then it stops, and is replaced with "What the hell ARE you? Get away from me!" As sounds of struggling ensue.
On Jack's end, he hears the door closing but sees the phone is no longer there. In fact, it's been replaced with what appears to be a fusebox.

Eric takes a few steps back and then uses his proven door-destroying abilities to attempt to break the door down.
Strength + Compassion v TN 6 = 1,4,8,4,2,9,1,3,6 -> 3 successes
He staggers back, groaning - his shoulder stings a bit, but the door is unmoved.
"Should have expected that... think, damn you, think! ... Hinges!"
He quickly grabs a few tools and sets to work dismantling the hinges, which should cause the door to fall right out of the frame.
Compassion + Agility versus Mechanics = 6,8,6,8,10,5,6,3,7 = 7 successes

Eric has the presence of mind to get his hands up and avoid getting smashed in the head by a door, but from his kneeling position working at the lowest hinge there was no way he was getting out from under it.
Any damage?

Eric stands up and gives the door a shove off himself, sending it a few yards into room. He steps in after it, hefting a hammer and mentally preparing himself to do whatever he can to help out.

As you enter the room, you fail to see Stephan. In fact, you don't hear him, and there's no sign of your previous visit here. The one difference, is in the far corner. A woman with a bandaged face and tattered clothing stumbles towards you, what little you can see of her skin has been burned to a darkened black crisp.
