"Oh - you've heard of them? That... makes a great deal of sense. I'm not sure why I didn't think of that. Sorry - I'll try to remember in the future. Well, that significantly lessens the degree of uncertainty here - Though, of course, she could be lying about being a Knight of Valor - do they have any particular distinguishing characteristics? And, if they do - did she match up with them? If she does, then we can probably skip the corroboration step and move straight to the planning."

Knowledge Check 16 + 7 =23 DC 20, Passed.
"Didn't think of that? I remembered the statue! Oh you are so aggravating some times."
Zell takes a deep breath and regains his composure.
"Well, clearly the symbol on her shield, the hand holding the lightning bolt, is the mark of Heironeous, the god of valor. Now that can be worn by anyone but the shield itself is unique. I noticed that the symbols behind the mark of Heironeous was a flaming sword, it is a mark of knights of Heironeous. Also, I noticed a small brand on the side of her neck, while I couldn't see it clearly I do know that The Knights of Valor do brand new members to unite them in brotherhood. So, I am very confident that she is who she claims to be, but if she isn't well find out when we see her."
"I assume that you are satisfied with my answer."

"U-uh, y-yes, that is quite satisfactory. Thank you. So, we can safely assume she's being sincere. Well, the logical course now is to learn as much as we can about our opposition, so that we can construct an efficient, safe plan of attack to minimize risk to ourselves and others during the process of it's removal. Naturally, the first step to this is consulting our one "witness" of the matter, the Paladin. We already know from her earlier narrative that it has some sort of ability to compel the actions of others, so any magical protections we can acquire against such influences would be well worth the expense."

"Agreed. Although I think I'll stay in the background, common folk don't see or like too many elves with bronze, scaly skin. I would advise the same for you, Verdatt."

"Heh, I doubt we'll need it but lets see what we can do."
GM's note, most low level spells can't affect most of the group. The reason for this is because they target Humanoids targets. Zell and Arthur have the Shapchanger sub-type, and Pan has the Fey type, and Verrdat and Aer Pandryl have the Dragon type, so spells like hold person and dominate person fail automatically. Shadow and Amber are the only ones vulnerable to those spells.

Point - but all the same, seemed a little meta-gamey to have that sort of certainty in character, especially given that Verrdat has no real knowledge of magical workings in any degree of depth.
"Hey - even if it turns out to be a complete waste of resources, not having to debate looking over my shoulder to make sure one of you isn't about to disembowel me or something every few seconds in the middle of a fight will help things on the psychological front at the very least - especially for a mentalist, maintaining undivided focus on the task at hand is paramount, as I'm sure you can appreciate, being a magic user yourself."

Well, yeah but considering that we can handle an 8th level encounter with ease those spells we ignore aren't going to be used against us much but when they do we wouldn't get exp for killing them. ;D
Wasn't arguing the point, just saying Shadow and the paladin will need the help, not the rest of us.

"Ahh... yes. Yes I will. Absolutely. Let's get right to that." It doesn't take a psychic to tell EXACTLY how excited he is at the prospect of this meeting.[/i]

The three of us head into town, when we get there Zell says, "I'm going to talk to the local church to see if I can get anything to help us out. Shadow, if you do not have anything you need to do, please tell Amber to head over to the campsite."
