My Story

"The year was 1440. I was a little boy back then in those simple times. My father was a minor Vassal to Lord Fredrick of Vienna. Peace was throughout the Holy Roman Empire. That was until the Turks came. A hellish Islamic people, the Turks of the Ottoman Empire was sweeping through Western Europe like a disease. As the news of the Turk's advance was clear, a call for warriors were sent out. My old brother and my father answered the call. MY brother had been knighted not a year ago, and my father was and old war general. Before his departure, he told me that we were to flee to Northern Italy. I would never see him again. Months passed after his departure. we knew not of what was happening until one night. My brother, with a gash across his left armor, burst into our house. The wound was fresh. In a panic he helped me gather our family's belongings and stored them onto a cart. As me and my mother and sisters rode away, I looked back at him mounting his mighty warhorse and riding off to the east. I would never see him again as well. My family were now peasants. No land, little money, we struggled to keep alive during our journey. Finally we reached a city state in Northern Italy. Unfortunately our mother had died along the Journey, me and my two sisters were taken under the wing of a noble knight that happened upon us one day. From then on he trained me to be a noble and fierce warrior as well as a skilled jouster. In 1450, at the age of 18, I was knighted by the lord of the city state. From that point on, I swore to return my family name to its rightful place as a landed noble. Knowing going back to our own land was impossible, I traveled Italy until I met up with a strange Gentry that went by the name of Seditch Marminon. The promise of land was all I needed to hear to go under his employ. In 1467, I found myself in the same city state I grew up in. I always wondered why this noble took an interest in this place, but never got the mind to ask him about it.
