The Arena Stone Ground Daril Tanm vs. Telburn Lavenstas, warrior of the Rzeczpospolita; and Thordin Kaburk, Savaxen Karl
"Laaaaadies and Gentlemen! We have a show for you tonight! One of the more successful up and coming warriors, Daril Tanm, who has fought alongside such big names as Paer Tandri, will be facing two seasoned veterans! Will his already famous toughness and grit be enough to face down two of the more feared names in fighting? Let's find out!
Telburn Lavenstas Physical: 4 (ST, TO, AG: 5) Mental: 4 (WP 6, SOC 3) Reflex: 4 Aim: 4 Proficiency (Cut&Thrust): 6 Saber Reach: Medium ATN: 6 DTN: 6 Cut Damage: ST+2 vs flesh, ST+1 vs soft armor, ST vs metal armor Thrust Damage: ST POOL: 10
Thordin Kaburk Physical: 4 (ST 5, TO 6) Mental: 4 (MA, SOC 3) Reflex: 4 Aim: 4 Proficiency (Poleaxe): 5 Gear: Poleaxe Reach: Long ATN: 7 DTN: 7 Damage: ST + 3, +(damagelevel) shock, +2 damage versus hard armors Pot Helm Chain Shirt w/ sleeves POOL: 7 in armor
Daril steps out into the arena, his dopplehander in his hands and the sun glistening off his chain armor. As he strode out into the field, the crowd began to cheer him, the visible underdog in this encounter. He quickly sizes up his opponents. "Telburn's good. Very good. However, if I land a hit he should go down without trouble. Thordin has some good armor, so he could be more resilient, and I don't like the look of that axe one bit." He gives a traditional salute to his opponents, waves to the crowd and then falls into a combat stance (Neutral). He has 11 dice, after the penalties from his armor.

Daril watches the two opponents as they take their stances. "I think I'll wait and see what happens. Maybe Thordin will slip up with a bit of encouragement."
"Hey! You, Savaxen! Get over here, coward! Settle this like a man, one on one! Or... are you too scared?"
Passive Initiative

Thordin's face turns red as he starts to rush forward."Coward? I'll show you!"Thordin goes for a downward swing with his poleaxe.

(Oh my.)
"Maybe this was a BAD IDEA!" Daril's face changes from a smirk to a look of horror as the savaxen rushes forwards screaming wildly.
I'll cut to the legs (To avoid the armor) for 4 dice, 1 activation cost. I'll burn my two luck to gain 2 auto successes here. And, rolling... 7, 8, 2, 10, so 5 sucesses. I'll BUY INITIATIVE for 6 dice. This means Thordin needs to roll Reflex vs. 9 (7 ATN, +2 from the two dice above his perception I spent) against my roll of Reflex vs. ATN (7, for my cut attack) to see who goes first.
REF vs ATN = 7,9, 9, 6

Daril, swings low with adrenaline fueled speed, a prayer on his lips as the savaxen's axe falls... followed shortly by it's owner, as his left leg seperates from his body from the knee down.
Shock is total and has 12 over-run, Pain is 12-WP (8 Effect), Blood Loss is 13
New round
Daril looks over his prone opponent, and decides against a killing blow. He won't be fighting again, and if the medics get here quick he might even live. He turns to Telburn in a defensive stance. "Just you and me now. Good luck.
Passive initiative.

The Combatants circle.
"I don't want to charge against a guard like that, but... hmmm..."
"You know, every second we waste here, circling like this is one less second the healers will have to save your friend's life. I can wait all day, but you might want consider that fact when choosing your strategy. But, then, what do I know? I'm sure he can survive an amputation like that unassisted. Right?"
EN Test vs. Bloodloss for Thordin: 3, 5, 7, 8 - No sucessess HT: 3 remaining

Telbourne looks down at his fallen comrade, then back at Daril. Beads of sweat roll down his forehead as he inches forward, but then draws back. He charges forward at Daril and thrusts his blade at his head
"FOR THORDIN!"
All out attack, 12 dice: 8; 10; 10; 9; 6; 4; 4; 3; 9; 8; 7; 6 making 10 successes unless I misremember the stats.

Daril switches to a half sword stance (REF v ATN = Succeed) and parries for 11 dice.
3,4,4,4,5,3,1,4,3,1,2 vs 6 (Halfsword DTN) = BOTCH!
A botch is when you roll no successes and two or more ones. You lose an amount = to half the dice spent from your remaining pool, which CAN rollover like shock.
MOS is 10.
Telburn deals 14 damage! Daril has 7 toughness and 4 armor, leading to 3 levels of damage to the (D6 = 2) throat!
Daril suffers 13 shock (leading to 18 overrun, counting the botch), 13-WP Pain (6 pain effective), and 7 blood loss.
Daril confidently steps forward and attempts to parry, but loses his grip on the sword, and Telbourn's blade easily stabs into his throat. It just BARELY misses the jugular, but the wound is quite major as blood fountains forth from underneath Daril's chainmaille coif. He attempts to speak, but all that comes out is a choking gasp.
EN vs BL = 3 success, no HT loss.
Thordin EN vs BL = No success, 1 HT lost, 2 remaining.

Telbourn takes another stab at Daril's throat.
"Don't worry Thordin, I won't let you die here!"
another all out shot, Telbourn wants this over with fast so he can POSSIBLY save Thordin. 12 dice: 1;3;7;9;9;10;2;3;5;6;7;9

Telbourn yanks his sword from Daril's throat with a twist, and then stabs it back again.
7 MOS = 11 damage, 7TO and 4 armor = 0 damage. The sword penetrates the armor, but not with enough force to do more than a scratch.
EN vs BL = 1 success, no HT loss.
Thordin EN vs BL = no successes, he only has 1 HT remaining so all other attributes are halved.

"WHY! WON'T! YOU! DIE?!?!?!"
Telbourn wrenches his sword from Daril's throat and takes another stab.
Full out aggressive, 12 dice: 2; 2; 3; 4; 7; 8; 10; 3; 2; 6; 7; 7. 6 successes

Heh. -1 damage levels this time. Daril is nigh invulnerable. I suppose you could just tear off his helmet and try again.
Daril makes his EN vs BL roll with 2. Thordin... MAKES HIS!
I'd let you make a grapple move that needs 1 success to remove the helmet of your essentially helpless opponent. It will only take one exchange, so there WON'T be a Bloodloss roll after it, so Thordin will still have a chance.
