The steward pauses and meets your gaze for a moment.
"... He has his father's eyes..."
He seems... distant, until a commotion from the audience brings him back to the present.
"Are you going to let this-this CHARLATAN rob me of my place?"
It's Count Heinrich - he does NOT seem happy. Knight-Marshall Corville is quick to fire back - "So, what, the emperor's lapdog is a better choice than the man's own son? Really?"
"His son? That man is no son of the Duke's! He's a lying rat, who means to steal what is rightfully mine, and by God I will not have it!"
"Pah! Heldara will never be a part of your empire, whether you think it your right or not!"
"Are you blind? This has nothing to do with the empire, it has to do with the fact that this man is a fraud! I demand this knave present PROOF of his claims!"
The tension in the air is palpable - it seems like steel may come into play at any moment.
"You have no right to demand ANYTHING here! We know you're behind this, and as soon as we can pin it on y-"
"SILENCE!"
The room quiets and listens, waiting to hear what the steward has to say - after a brief pause, he continues.
"This... foolish bickering will cease. I vouch for this man's status - I remember him, even after all these long years. There will be no further argument. The preparations will be made for a ceremony in two weeks time."
"No! This is UNACCEPTABLE! You may be too much a FOOL to resist this man's treachery, but I am not! Mark my words, no usurper will rob me of my birthright!"
Heinrich storms out of the crowded room, his entourage from the Empire opening the doors and getting in the way of any efforts to stop him from leaving, and then following him.
Helnas then comments: "That... could probably have gone better, yes?"
